Because Athletes Here Deserve Better

For years, young athletes in Chenango County had nowhere real to train indoors. If you wanted batting cages, you drove 30 minutes to Binghamton. If you wanted professional coaching, you drove even further. In a county full of talented, hard-working kids — kids who compete on the same fields as anyone in the state — there was no dedicated facility to help them get better during the off-season.

We built Chenango SportsZone to fix that. This isn't a rec center. It's not a chain gym with a batting cage bolted on as an afterthought. This is a purpose-built indoor training facility designed for one thing: helping young athletes in this community improve at their sport. The Williamson family saw the gap and filled it. We live here. Our kids play here. We built what Greene needed.

How SportsZone Was Built

2025

Breaking Ground

The concrete floor goes in. Workers pour the foundation that will hold thousands of training sessions. What was once an empty shell starts becoming something real.

Walls Go Up

Framing goes up, windows get cut, and the building starts to take shape. Every wall is built with one purpose in mind — creating the best indoor training space in Chenango County.

Exterior Takes Shape

The entrance takes form. Porch framing and exterior work give the building its identity. Greene is about to get a facility it's never had before.

Turf Day

The moment it becomes real. Green turf rolls out across the floor, lights are on, and the walls are up. From concrete slab to training surface — the facility is almost ready.

Doors Open

Cages are hung, HitTrax is installed, equipment is in place. Chenango SportsZone opens its doors and athletes in Greene finally have somewhere to train. The work starts now.

Part of the Community

Chenango SportsZone is built for the athletes of Greene Central School District and the surrounding Chenango County communities. The Trojans compete in baseball, softball, soccer, field hockey, golf, and more — every sport we train. When winter shuts down the outdoor fields from November through March, our facility keeps athletes sharp. When off-season conditioning means the difference between making the team and watching from the stands, this is where the work happens. Norwich, Oxford, Coventry, Smithville — athletes from across the county drive to Greene because this facility exists. We're not a franchise. We're a family that built what our community needed.
